Frenchman Corentin Moutet defeated Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Stuttgart Open at Tennisclub Weissenhof Stuttgart on Tuesday.
Moutet, ranked No 91, will play top seed Alexander Zverev next.
