Tel Aviv Open: Safiullin books spot in quarter-finals

Russian Roman Safiullin moved into the quarter-finals of the Tel Aviv Open by winning against Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-1, 6-4 at Expo Tel Aviv on Wednesday.
Safiullin, ranked No 104, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, the No 3 seed, and Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech next.
In the previous round of the Tel Aviv, the Russian beat Frenchman Hugo Grenier (3-6, 6-4, 6-2).
Etcheverry, ranked No 87, edged out Russian Aslan Karatsev, the No 6 seed (6-2, 6-7, 6-4) during the first round of the Tel Aviv.
