Dutchman Gijs Brouwer beat American J.J. Wolf, the No 5 seed, 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last 4 of the US Clay Court Championships at River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Saturday night.
Brouwer, ranked No 123, will face American Frances Tiafoe, the top seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Dutchman won against American Aleksandar Kovacevic (6-4, 6-4) and American John Isner, the No 4 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)).
Wolf, ranked No 54, won against Australian Jordan Thompson (6-3, 6-2) and Denis Kudla (6-4, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Houston Open.
