Swiss qualifier Huesler beats Draper to reach second ATP semi-final

Swiss qualifier Marc-Andrea Huesler advanced to the semi-finals of an ATP Tour event for the second time in his career after a straight sets upset win over 13th seed Jack Draper at the Winston-Salem Open.

Huesler, ranked No 102 in the world, defeated Draper 6-4, 6-4 and will next meet Serbia’s Laslo Djere next. Djere scored a three-set win over Frenchman Richard Gasquet earlier on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Huesler needed one hour and 20 minutes for the win.

Ahead of his win on Thursday, Huesler defeated Swede wildcard Mikael Ymer (6-4, 6-4) and edged out Belarusian Ilya Ivashka, the No 11 seed (7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-6 (3)).
