Nick Kyrgios and Frances Tiafoe will head the groups for this summer’s UTS event in Los Angeles, which will be played from July 21-23.
The two men – two of the most entertaining players on the ATP Tour – were kept apart as the two round-robin groups were set, based on ATP rankings and a random draw.
Australian Kyrgios, the runner-up at Wimbledon last year and who will play as “King Kyrgios”, will join Taylor Fritz (The Hotshot), Yibing Wu (The Great Wall) and Diego Schwartzman (El Peque) in Group A.
Tiafoe (Big Foe), who made his first slam semi-final at the US Open last year, will play in Group B alongside Ben Shelton (The Mountain), Alexander Bublik (The Bublik Enemy) and Gael Monfils (La Monf).
Group A:
Nick Kyrgios, King Kyrgios
Taylor Fritz, The Hotshot
Yibing Wu, The Great Wall
Diego Schwartzman, El Peque
Group B:
Frances Tiafoe, Big Foe
Ben Shelton, The Mountain
Alexander Bublik, The Bublik Enemy
Gaël Monfils, La Monf
The top two in each group will progress to the Final Four and eventually the final. The winner of the event will automatically qualify for the season-ending Grand Final in December.
The Los Angeles event is the first of three regular UTS events in 2023.
