Marterer makes Wimbledon second round
Maximilian Marterer edged out Aljaz Bedene 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, 7-5 on Monday and will face American Frances Tiafoe, the No 23 seed, in the next round

German qualifier Maximilian Marterer edged out Slovenian Aljaz Bedene 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, 7-5 to reach the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.
Marterer, ranked No 172, will play American Frances Tiafoe, the No 23 seed, next.
