Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray led fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas by two sets to one when play was stopped on Centre Court due to the 11 PM curfew.

After battling for two hours and 52 minutes, Murray was leading 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 6-4 which put him one set away from making the third round. The match will now be resumed on Friday as the second match on Centre Court.

The Brit had a scare just before play was stopped as he slipped on 40-15 and let out a scream. However, Murray got back and served out the set on the next point to the delight of the packed Centre Court crowd when play was stopped for the day.

Murray is looking to enter the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time since 2017. The Brit has at least reached the quarter-finals at his home Grand Slam for ten consecutive years from 2008 to 2017. He missed the tournament in 2018 and 2019 due to injuries and reached the third round in 2021 and the second round in 2022 (the tournament was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic).

The winner of the match will play Serbia’s Laslo Djere in the third round.
