There has been plenty of reaction to Wimbledon’s schedule for Middle Saturday – little of it positive.
The order of play puts the day’s obvious popcorn match – Nick Kyrgios versus Stefanos Tsitsipas – on No 1 Court, with British hope Katie Boulter against Harmony Tan, the conqueror of Serena Williams, out on Court No 2.
Instead, the Centre Court line-up consists of Coco Gauff against Amanda Anisimova, Paula Badosa against Petra Kvitova, followed by Lorenzo Sonego against Rafael Nadal.
No 1 Court also features Britain’s Liam Broady against Alex de Minaur, and world No 1 Iga Swiatek against Alize Cornet.
No 2 Court’s schedule includes Richard Gasquet against Botic van de Zandschulp, and Magdalena French against former champion Simona Halep.
