Russian Daria Kasatkina won against American qualifier Claire Liu 6-4, 6-3 to reach the second round of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park on Tuesday.
Kasatkina, ranked No 15, will face qualifier Anna Kalinskaya, also from Russia, next.
