Out of the top 150, Kenin into second round to face Shnaider at China Open
The American defeated Ana Bogdan 7-5, 6-2 in the first round on Wednesday

Former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin beat Romanian Ana Bogdan 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the first round of the China Open in Beijing on Wednesday.
The American, who began the season ranked inside the world’s top 40, has now dropped to No 168 in the latest rankings after a 9-21 record on the WTA Tour coming into this week (including 13 opening round losses).
Kenin, ranked No 168, will play No 12 seed Diana Shnaider next at the National Tennis Center.
