Cluj-Napoca Open: Parrizas Diaz downs Blinkova to move into last eight

Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz edged out Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 3 seed, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BTarena.

Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 132, will play the winner of the match between Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 5 seed, and qualifier Harriet Dart next.

The Spaniard beat German Laura Siegemund (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.

In the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, Blinkova, ranked No 51, won against Swiss qualifier Simona Waltert (6-3, 6-0).
