Wildcard Sofia Kenin won against second seed Madison Brengle 6-1, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Dow Tennis Classic at Greater Midland Tennis Center on Thursday night.
Kenin, ranked No 253, will play the winner of the match between American Catherine McNally, the No 7 seed, and Su Jeong Jang next.
Sofia Kenin defeated wildcard Maria Mateas (7-5, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Brengle, ranked No 52, beat Canadian Carol Zhao (6-4, 6-1).
