American Coco Gauff, the No 5 seed, reached the last 8 of the Dubai Duty Free Championships after Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 9 seed, withdrew before the match on Wednesday at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre.

Gauff, ranked No 6, will face American Madison Keys next.

The 18-year-old American beat Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (6-0, 6-4) ahead of her victory.

In the previous rounds of the Dubai Open, Rybakina, ranked No 10, won against Canadian Bianca Andreescu (6-3, 6-4) and Czech Marie Bouzkova (7-5, 6-2).
