Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 5 seed, won against Belgian qualifier Greet Minnen 7-6 (3), 6-1 to reach the last 16 of the Eastbourne Open at Devonshire Park Lawn Club.
Ostapenko, ranked No 13, will play the winner of the match between Katie Boulter and Croat lucky loser Petra Martic next.
