World No 1 Iga Swiatek has had very few reasons to regret anything over the past couple of years as she has racked up four Grand Slam titles.

But the Pole may live to regret missing three match points and squandering a big lead in her semi-final against Yanina Wickmayer at the Warsaw Open on Saturday.

Swiatek, who had already won her quarter-final earlier in the day after rain on Friday, led the Belgian by a set and 5-2 but could not serve out for victory, twice, and missed three match points as Wickmayer levelled at 5-5 before darkness intervened.

The Pole may have to play twice again on Sunday, now, first to complete her match with Wickmayer, and then, if she is successful, to take on Laura Siegemund, the German, who won twice in a day on Saturday to book her place in the final.
