Australian Olivia Gadecki moved into the quarter-finals of the Guadalajara 125 Open by edging out Italian Lucrezia Stefanini 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Gadecki, ranked No 154, will play German Tatjana Maria, the No 4 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Australian won against Argentinian Julia Riera, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Stefanini, ranked No 162, defeated American qualifier Sachia Vickery (6-1, 6-1).
