Hobart International 1: Blinkova books spot in last 8

Russian qualifier Anna Blinkova reached the quarter-finals of the Hobart International 1 by winning against Czech Marie Bouzkova, the top seed, 7-5, 6-4 at the Domain Tennis Centre on Wednesday night.
Blinkova, ranked No 72, will face the winner of the match between Spanish qualifier Nuria Parrizas Diaz and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian beat Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-4, 6-3).
Bouzkova, ranked No 26, defeated Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (7-6 (2), 6-3) in the previous round of the Hobart tournament.
