Indian Wells: Wozniacki powers into third round

Dane wildcard Caroline Wozniacki moved into the third round of the Indian Wells by winning against Croat Donna Vekic, the No 25 seed, 7-6 (5), 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday night.

Wozniacki, ranked No 204, will face the winner of the match between American wildcard Katie Volynets and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 6 seed, next.

The 33-year-old Dane defeated Chinese Lin Zhu (7-6 (6), 6-1) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
