Iasi Open: Udvardy moves into last four
Panna Udvardy won against Kristina Mladenovic 6-1, 6-2 on Friday and will play the winner of the match between Spaniard Rebeka Masarova and Pole Maja Chwalinska in the next round
Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the second seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Lasi Open by defeating Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic, the No 6 seed, 6-1, 6-2 at Baza Sportivă Ciric in Iasi on Friday.
Udvardy, ranked No 93, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Rebeka Masarova and Pole Maja Chwalinska next.
The Hungarian won against Greek Despina Papamichail (6-3, 7-5) and Reka Luca Jani (6-0, 7-6 (6)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Mladenovic, ranked No 112, beat Croat Tena Lukas (2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3) and Romanian Alexandra Ignatik (7-5, 6-3).
