Linz Open: Martic through to semi-finals against Sakkari
Petra Martic won against Clara Tauson 6-4, 7-5 on Friday evening and will face Greek Maria Sakkari, the top seed, in the next round

Croat Petra Martic, the No 6 seed, beat Dane lucky loser Clara Tauson 6-4, 7-5 to advance to the semi-finals of the Linz Open at the Design Center Linz on Friday evening.
Martic, ranked No 34, will face Greek Maria Sakkari, the top seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Croat won against Spanish qualifier Marina Bassols Ribera (6-1, 7-5) and edged out Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck (6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3)).
Tauson, ranked No 141, won against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 3 seed (6-1, 6-2) and edged out Italian Camila Giorgi (1-6, 6-3, 6-4).
The other semi-final will be played between Anastasia Potapova (8) and Marketa Vondrousova.
