Nottingham Open: Kessler moves into final

American McCartney Kessler moved into the final of the Nottingham Open by winning against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-2 at Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre on Saturday.
Kessler, ranked No 42, will play Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska next.
The American beat Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the top seed (7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5), Chinese Lin Zhu (6-1, 6-4) and No 8 seed Katie Boulter (6-3, 3-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament, Sramkova, ranked No 38, defeated German qualifier Laura Siegemund (7-6 (2), 4-6, 7-6 (6)), Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 4 seed (6-1, 4-6, 6-4) and No 7 seed Linda Noskova (3-6, 6-4, 6-4).
