Austrian Sinja Kraus edged out Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (6) to move into the last 16 of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès on Wednesday.
Kraus, ranked No 153, will face Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 7 seed, next.
