Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès by beating Hungarian qualifier Timea Babos 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Podoroska, ranked No 103, will play Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Argentinian edged out Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela (7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (1)).
Babos, ranked No 211, won against Romanian qualifier Andreea Prisacariu (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round.
