Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans edged out Austrian Julia Grabher, the No 9 seed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to move into the final of the Palermo Ladies Open on Saturday.
Koevermans, ranked No 201, will face Englishwoman Francesca Jones, the No 3 seed, next.
The 21-year-old Dutchman defeated Spanish qualifier Kaitlin Quevedo (6-4, 6-1), Latvian Darja Semenistaja, the No 4 seed (6-2, 1-6, 7-5) and French qualifier Alice Rame (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Grabher, ranked No 139, won against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-4, 6-3), Spanish qualifier Carlota Martinez Cirez (6-0, 4-0 ret.) and Croat Tara Wuerth (6-2, 6-4).
