Qatar Open: Coco Gauff stunned by Siniakova in Doha

Katerina Siniakova advanced to the last 16 of the Qatar Open by winning against American Coco Gauff, the second seed, 6-2, 6-4 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.

It was a hugely impressive performance from the Czech, who outperformed the reigning US Open champion to clinch the second top-3 win of her career.

Having built a reputation as a formidable doubles specialist, Siniakova is making significant inroads with her singles as well, having taken the fifth title of her career at the Jiangxi Open last season.

Siniakova, ranked No 42, will play American qualifier Danielle Collins next.
