Rouen Open: Stephens breezes past Garcia to move into final
Sloane Stephens defeated Caroline Garcia 6-3, 6-2 and will play the winner of the match between Magda Linette and Anhelina Kalinina in the final

American Sloane Stephens, the No 6 seed, defeated Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the second seed, 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Rouen Open at the Kindarena.
Stephens, ranked No 39, will face the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette and Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 3 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the American won against Peyton Stearns (1-6, 6-1, 6-3), Karolina Pliskova (6-3, 6-2) and Chinese Yue Yuan, the No 4 seed (6-2, 6-2).
Garcia, ranked No 23, won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-1, 3-6, 7-5), Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-1, 6-0) and Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-3, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament.
