Colombian wildcard Emiliana Arango reached the last 16 of the San Luis Potosi Open by edging out Austrian Julia Grabher, the No 6 seed, 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-4 on Tuesday night.
Arango, ranked No 286, will face Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean next.
