Kimberly Birrell advanced to the second round of the Seoul Open by edging out Priscilla Hon 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 at the Seoul Olympic Park on Monday night.
Birrell, ranked No 309, will face the winner of the match between German Tatjana Maria, the No 7 seed, and Canadian Eugenie Bouchard next.
