Local favourite Jaqueline Cristian went down to Chinese Xiyu Wang, the No 7 seed, in straight sets in the first round of the Transylvania Open on Tuesday.
Just as she had done last year, Jaqueline Cristian walked on to the court in a cape much to the delight of tennis fans in the stadium.
However, that was not enough for her to get through Wang and the Romanian went down 6-3, 6-3 in one hour and 21 minutes.
Wang, ranked No 59, will face the winner of the match between Romanian wildcard Elena-Gabriela Ruse and French lucky loser Harmony Tan next.
