Trophée Clarins: Cornet moves into quarter-finals

Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 7 seed, beat Su Jeong Jang 6-1, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the Trophée Clarins at the Lagardère Paris Racing on Thursday afternoon.
Cornet, ranked No 64, will face American Katie Volynets next.
The 33-year-old Frenchman won against American Ashlyn Krueger (7-6 (6), 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Jang, ranked No 114, won against French wildcard Fiona Ferro (6-3, 6-1).
