Frenchman Adrian Mannarino defeated Australian qualifier Max Purcell 6-3, 7-6 (7), 4-6, 4-6, 6-4 to advance to the second round of Wimbledon at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.
Mannarino, ranked No 86, will face American Tommy Paul, the No 30 seed, next.
