Saint-Malo Open: Svitolina’s comeback building as she reaches quarter-finals

Ukrainian wildcard Elina Svitolina edged out Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure, the No 4 seed, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) to advance to the last eight of the Saint-Malo Open at the Parc des sports de Marville on Wednesday afternoon.
Elina Svitolina will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean and Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 5 seed, next.
The Ukrainian won against Greek Despina Papamichail (7-5, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Saint-Malo tournament, Bonaventure, ranked No 84, defeated French wildcard Selena Janicijevic (6-4, 6-4).
