Croatia Open: Wawrinka advances to quarter-finals

Swiss Stan Wawrinka, the No 6 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Croatia Open by winning against Argentinian Federico Coria 7-5, 6-1 at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Thursday evening.
Wawrinka, ranked No 72, will play Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 38-year-old Swiss defeated Austrian qualifier Filip Misolic (6-3, 6-2).
Coria, ranked No 108, beat Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Umag tournament.
