Bucharest Open: Fucsovics into last four

Hungarian Marton Fucsovics moved into the semi-finals of the Bucharest Open by winning against Australian Christopher O’Connell 6-0, 6-4 at the Năstase & Marica Sports Club. on Friday.

Fucsovics, ranked No 90, will play top seed Sebastian Baez next for a place in the final.

The 33-year-old Hungarian defeated Italian Luca Nardi (6-3, 6-1) and edged out Argentinian Mariano Navone, the No 7 seed (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) ahead of his win today.

Earlier in the week, O’Connell, ranked No 87, won against Serb Dusan Lajovic (6-4, 6-3) and edged out Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 4 seed (6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (5)).
