Tommy Paul reaches Delray Beach quarter-finals

Second seed Tommy Paul – one of three American men currently ranked inside the top 20 – moved into the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open by winning against Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-4 at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Thursday evening.
The 25-year-old is fresh off his first major semi-final at this year’s Australian Open, and he improves his 2023 record to 8-2 with his second victory in two meetings at tour-level against Kudla.
Paul, ranked No 19, will face Radu Albot next.
In the previous round of the Delray Beach tournament, Kudla, ranked No 95, edged out Australian Jordan Thompson (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2)).
