Andy Murray has dealt with questions regarding his future in tennis for years now. Returning to the top of the game following multiple injuries and surgeries, notably his hip resurfacing, has taken time.

And after his defeat to Ugo Humbert in Dubai, the former world No 1 has finally admitted he is likely to end his career in the next few months.

“I’m likely not going to play past this summer,” he confirmed, having already referred to not having “too long left” in his on-court career.

“I get asked about it after every single match that I play, every single tournament that I play,” he added.

“I’m bored of the question, to be honest. Yeah, I’m not going to talk more about that between now and whenever the time comes for me to stop.

“But yeah, I don’t plan on playing much past this summer.”

Murray has previously suggested that he would like to play at the Paris Olympic Games, which begin on July 26.
