Metz Open: Rune books spot in quarter-finals

Dane Holger Rune, the No 4 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Metz Open when Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi retired on Thursday evening at Arènes de Metz.

Rune, ranked No 31, led 6-4, 4-1 when Bonzi, ranked No 61, pulled out on Thursday evening at Arènes de Metz.

The 19-year-old Dane will face Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 7 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Metz, the Frenchman won against wildcard Ugo Humbert (6-2, 2-6, 6-1).
