US Open: Shelton books spot in third round against Mannarino
The American won against Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in the second round

American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed, advanced to the third round of the US Open by beating Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in New York on Wednesday night.
Shelton, ranked No 6 and a semi-finalist here in 2023, will play Frenchman Adrian Mannarino next at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center for a spot in the fourth round.
Earlier in the week, the 22-year-old American won against Peruvian qualifier Ignacio Buse (6-3, 6-2, 6-4).
Carreno Busta, ranked No 137, defeated qualifier Pablo Llamas Ruiz (7-6 (7), 6-4, 6-2) in the first round of the tournament.
