Nick Kyrgios will not play in the upcoming UTS Tour event in Frankfurt.

The Australian, who has played just one tournament this year because of knee surgery and more recently a wrist injury, will not be fit in time for the competition, which will be played from September 15-17.

Kyrgios’s replacement for the eight-man event will be named in the coming days.

The former Wimbledon runner-up had been due to make his UTS debut at the Los Angeles event last month, but instead, ended up acting as coach for Frances Tiafoe.

Daniil Medvedev, Gael Monfils, Andrey Rublev, Christopher Eubanks, Benoit Paire, Diego Schwartzman and Reilly Opelka are confirmed for the event.

The winner of the event will qualify for the UTS Grand Final, to be played in December.
