Argentina Open: Pigossi blasts past Perrin to make quarter-finals

Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Argentina Open by winning against Swiss Conny Perrin 6-2, 6-3 at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Wednesday evening.
Pigossi, ranked No 137, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Solana Sierra and American Robin Montgomery next.
The Brazilian edged out Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Argentinian tournament. In the previous round of the Argentinian tournament, Perrin, ranked No 364, defeated Brazilian Carolina M. Alves (6-2, 6-1).
