Fruhvirtova flying in Chennai, into last eight with Peterson victory

Czech Linda Fruhvirtova moved into the last eight of the Chennai Open by winning against Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 5 seed, 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday.
Fruhvirtova, ranked No 130, will play the winner of the match between Canadian Carol Zhao and Russian Varvara Gracheva, the second seed, next.
The 17-year-old Czech beat qualifier En-Shuo Liang (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) in the previous round.
She came into the tournament on a high after progressing through qualifying at the US Open, before losing to Garbine Muguruza in the second round.
In the previous round, Peterson, ranked No 95, defeated Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-2, 7-6 (4)).
