Navarro surges into Mérida Open title match
Emma Navarro made quick work of Elina Avanesyan on Saturday in Merida, advancing to the final with a 6-3, 6-3 victory. Navarro awaits either Emiliana Arango or Daria Saville.

Emma Navarro, the top seed, secured her spot in the final of the Mérida Open Akron by easing past Armenian Elina Avanesyan 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday night.
Navarro, ranked No 10, will next play the winner of an all-qualifier match between Colombian Emiliana Arango and Australian Daria Saville.
The American previously defeated Croat qualifier Petra Martic (6-1, 6-2) and wild card Zeynep Sonmez (6-4, 6-2).
Avanesyan, ranked No 45, advanced to the semi-finals with victories over Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 7 seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-3), Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (6-1, 6-4) and Australian qualifier Maya Joint (4-6, 6-2, 6-0).
