Pegula secures spot in Austin semi-finals
Jessica Pegula eased past Anna Blinkova in straight sets on Friday in Austin. Pegula will battle Ajla Tomljanovic for a place in the final.

Jessica Pegula, the top seed, cruised into the semi-finals of the Austin Open by beating Russian Anna Blinkova 6-2, 6-2 at the Westwood Country Club on Friday afternoon.
Pegula, ranked No 4, will go up against Australian wild card Ajla Tomljanovic.
In the previous rounds of the Austin tournament, the American benefited from the retirement of Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus (6-3, 3-2) before defeating Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (6-1, 6-3).
Blinkova, ranked No 74, advanced to the last eight by defeating Japanese Moyuka Uchijima, the No 6 seed (4-6, 6-4, 6-0) and German Tatjana Maria (6-2, 6-2).
