Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the top seed, won against Russian Elina Avanesyan 6-7 (2), 6-1, 6-2 to move into the final of the San Luis Potosi Open on Saturday night.
Cocciaretto, ranked No 49, will face Italian Sara Errani, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous rounds, the 22-year-old Italian beat Mexican Marcela Zacarias (6-3, 6-0), Argentinian Nadia Podoroska (7-6 (8), 6-1) and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-2, 6-4).
Avanesyan, ranked No 165, defeated Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl, the No 4 seed (6-4, 7-5), Cypriot Raluka Serban (6-4, 6-1) and Colombian wildcard Emiliana Arango (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
