Francesca Jones reached the semi-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open by edging out American Robin Montgomery 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 at the Club Deportivo Potosino on Friday evening.
Jones, ranked No 270, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Julia Riera and Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens next.
Earlier in the tournament, Francesca Jones won against Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva (7-5, 6-4) and Hungarian Anna Bondar (6-1, 5-7, 6-2).
Montgomery, ranked No 183, defeated Australian Astra Sharma (6-3, 6-4) and No 6 seed Hailey Baptiste (6-4, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the San Luis Potosi tournament.
