Robin Montgomery won against No 6 seed Hailey Baptiste 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open at the Club Deportivo Potosino.
Montgomery, ranked No 183, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Anna Bondar and Francesca Jones next.
In the previous round of the San Luis Potosi tournament, Robin Montgomery beat Australian Astra Sharma (6-3, 6-4).
Baptiste, ranked No 96, won against Mexican wildcard Maria Fernanda Navarro Oliva (6-4, 6-1) in the previous round of the San Luis Potosi tournament.
