Thoreau Open: Pera moves into final

Second seed Bernarda Pera moved into the final of the Thoreau Open by winning against qualifier Katrina Scott 6-4, 6-2 at Thoreau Tennis club in Concord on Saturday evening.

Pera, ranked No 56, will face American wildcard Coco Vandeweghe next.

Bernarda Pera beat qualifier Kayla Day (6-4, 7-5), Russian Anna Blinkova (2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3) and Katie Volynets (6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.

In the previous rounds of the Concord Open, Scott, ranked No 241, defeated Japanese lucky loser Moyuka Uchijima (6-1, 6-1), Czech Karolina Muchova (6-3, 4-0 ret.) and wildcard Taylor Townsend (6-3, 3-6, 6-4).
