American Robin Montgomery won against Italian wildcard Beatrice Ricci 6-1, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Veneto Open promoted by Regione del Veneto on Tuesday evening.
Montgomery, ranked No 149, will play Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 5 seed, next.
