Cirstea upsets Shnaider in Austin second round
Sorana Cirstea scored a three-set upset of Diana Shnaider on Thursday in Austin. Cirstea will meet either McCartney Kessler or Cristina Bucsa in the quarter-finals.

Romanian Sorana Cirstea held off Russian Diana Shnaider, the second seed, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Austin Open at the Westwood Country Club on Thursday evening.
Cirstea, ranked No 120, will next face the winner of a match between American McCartney Kessler, the No 5 seed, and Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa.
The 34-year-old Romanian previously beat German Laura Siegemund (6-3, 0-6, 6-1).
Shnaider, ranked No 13, edged out qualifier Tatiana Prozorova (0-6, 6-2, 7-5) in the previous round of the Austin tournament.
