WTA Indian Wells: Svitolina beats Collins, to face Pegula in fourth round

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 23 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the BNP Paribas Open by defeating American Danielle Collins, the No 14 seed, 6-2, 6-4 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Sunday.
Svitolina, ranked No 23, will play American Jessica Pegula, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the tournament, the Ukrainian won against American Ashlyn Krueger (6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-3).
Collins, ranked No 14, edged out qualifier Hailey Baptiste (5-7, 6-2, 6-4) in the second round of the tournament.
